Your sedan kingpin is back and true to DNA protocol, houses V8 power with performance figures that conjures up childlike smirking.

The 4.4 litre Twin Turbo V8, creates 441 kW (460kW in the Competition). The drive train is supplemented by an eight-speed Steptronic transmission with xDrive all-wheel drive and the olive branch to the anoraks is that there is a setting for rear-wheel option only. 0-100km/h is achieved in 3.4 seconds and the 200km/h mark is met with fury in just 11.1 seconds. For the competition version, subtract 0.1 and 0.3 seconds on those yardstick markings respectively. Fuel consumption is 10.6l/100km for both models.

Out of the cosmetic surgery theatre, the M5 gets the updated kidney grille, restyled front apron with larger air intakes and L-shape LED light tubes to further distinguish the new model. The L shape LED light graphic follows to the rear of the car to complete the theme and the new two-button M mode button lets the driver toggle between being a law-abiding citizen and nefarious hooligan and is borrowed from the M8, giving the driver further control over the various drivetrain and setup configurations. On the Competition version, there is a TRACK mode so get your open face helmets and three-quarter sweatshirts ready.

No news on the local launch just yet but stay glued.
